Training

A selection of the courses I run, please ask for bespoke offerings. Happy to travel within the UK or internationally to deliver any of these, or to deliver talks online around any of these topics. Online for a standard session normally costs £800. Typically “in-person” within the UK will be £1,200 to £1,500 for a session (half day) as it includes travel costs (depending on timing and location). Happy to travel internationally too!

Playful Teaching Approaches

Half day workshops, shorter (and not as interactive) online, on using play and playfulness in teaching or training adults, with some theory, but mainly practical and playful exercises.

Introduction to Playful Leadership

Always customised, but typically half day covering the benefits of play in organisations and for ourselves, together with how we might start becoming a playful leader. More details available.

Making games for adult learning

A half day of introducing some ideas behind using play and game based learning and following a process to build some (non-digital) prototypes. In person for the prototyping, online would suit “playful teaching approaches” better. More details available.

Supporting Neurodivergent workers

Always customised, between an hour and half a day aimed at illustrating to a neurotypical group of workers what is may feel like to be neurodivergent (Autistic, ADHD, Dyspraxic, etc) in different workplace scenarios, working towards some ways of supporting your neurodivergent colleagues most effectively. Works really well aimed at groups of managers, including how to get the best out of neurodivergent members of your team. Shorter sessions with less interactivity can be delivered online (which would be cheaper), but more beneficial in person! More details available.

Introduction to using Lego for adult teaching / training

Using ideas from Lego Serious Play, we cover the basics of how this approach works and reflect on how it might be used in our own setting. Can be online, so delivered to anywhere in the world, (with Lego posted out) or in person. More details available.

Bringing more play into your workplace

Play has lots of benefits in the workplace, this workshop briefly covers these benefits (from the research literature); explains the difference between play, playfulness, and games; and playfully introduces ways in which we can encourage a sense of playfulness in the workplace in order to enable play to emerge. We will gently play in this session, not in a scary way I promise! Works better in person, but can be online.

I’m currently working on new workshops, including “Build your own leadership model”, where participants will reflect upon their beliefs and values around leadership, how those might fit within their wider work culture, then take elements from existing leadership models to consider how they can build their own consistent approach to leadership and management. I may also adapt this to run within a single organisation to help build consistent, or complementary, leadership approaches within a management team.

Sessions open to all to book, more information on Eventbrite.
